Modi to visit Gujarat October 30–31 for project launches, unity celebrations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day Gujarat visit will include development projects worth over ₹14,000 crore in Banaskantha, a ₹19,000-crore PM-KISAN instalment and National Unity Day celebrations in Ekta Nagar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on October 30–31, 2026, combining development project launches with celebrations marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 151st birth anniversary. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the programme spans Banaskantha and Ekta Nagar, with agriculture, transport and tourism among its principal themes.
In Banaskantha on October 30, Modi is scheduled to inaugurate completed projects and lay foundation stones for new works collectively worth more than ₹14,000 crore. He will also release the 24th PM-KISAN instalment, amounting to ₹19,000 crore, and address a gathering. The farmer assistance payment is a nationwide measure, separate from the Gujarat development package.
The agricultural programme includes a visit to an embryo-transfer and in-vitro fertilisation laboratory and the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre. Modi will dedicate the 127-acre centre at Bhildi, which the government describes as a facility focused on breeding improvements for Kankrej cattle. Foundation stones are also planned for two Banas Dairy Bio-CNG plants.
Transport announcements include foundation stones for Ahmedabad Metro extensions serving the airport and GIFT City. The airport extension will cover more than six kilometres with five stations, while the GIFT City extension will span more than 3.3 kilometres with three stations. Modi will also launch work to widen the Ahmedabad-Mehsana highway from four lanes to eight.
The itinerary extends beyond major transport infrastructure to agricultural storage and local services. It includes completed Agriculture Infrastructure Fund projects, new and completed Anganwadi centres, and food-processing facilities. Two train services—the Ahmedabad Sabarmati–Varanasi Express and the Mehsana–Becharaji–Sabarmati MEMU—are scheduled to be flagged off.
Modi will travel to Ekta Nagar later on October 30 to inaugurate Bharat Parv 2026. The festival will showcase traditions, performances, food and handicrafts from states and Union Territories, with activities continuing until November 15. The government expects it to support tourism in Ekta Nagar and nearby destinations.
The evening schedule also includes Ekta Prakash Parv and Narmada Aarti. The illumination programme features a themed Valley of Flowers Road display and a walkthrough Glow Tunnel. These attractions form part of the government’s effort to develop nighttime visitor experiences in Ekta Nagar.
On October 31, Modi will offer floral tributes at the Statue of Unity before attending another development programme. Projects worth more than ₹400 crore in Ekta Nagar include water and sewage treatment, visitor accommodation, public spaces and ecological attractions. Other proposed works cover roads, waste management and eco-tourism facilities.
The visit will culminate in Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, with a parade and cultural presentations commemorating Patel. According to the official announcement, the programme will emphasise security forces’ operations against Left-Wing Extremism alongside the theme of national unity. The itinerary sets out scheduled launches and ceremonies; foundation-stone projects represent work still to be undertaken rather than completed infrastructure.
