The Powerball winning numbers for Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, were 1, 21, 44, 50 and 57, with the red Powerball 5. The Power Play multiplier was 2x, according to the game’s official results. No ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot.

The drawing had been advertised with a $635 million jackpot and a $267.5 million cash option, as reported in USA Today’s preview. Powerball’s results page subsequently listed Wednesday’s estimated jackpot at $639 million and its cash value at $269 million. The Texas Lottery’s drawing history continued to show the advertised $635 million figure.

Although the jackpot went unclaimed, three tickets won seven-figure prizes. Powerball reported that tickets in Ohio and Pennsylvania each won $2 million by matching all five white balls with the Power Play option. A New Jersey ticket matched the five white balls without Power Play to win $1 million.

The outcome extended a jackpot run that followed the most recent top-prize win on Aug. 12, according to the Texas Lottery’s drawing history. Monday’s Oct. 19 drawing also produced no jackpot winner, with an advertised prize of $607 million. Wednesday’s rollover means the top prize remains available for the next drawing.

Players who missed the jackpot combination may still hold a winning ticket. Wednesday’s national results included six tickets winning $50,000 and four Power Play tickets winning $100,000. Lower-tier prizes also included $4 awards for matching only the red Powerball, or one white ball and the Powerball, before any applicable multiplier.

Power Play increases eligible non-jackpot prizes for tickets carrying the add-on, but it does not multiply the jackpot. The five-white-ball prize with Power Play is fixed at $2 million, regardless of the multiplier drawn. That distinction accounts for the different payouts reported for the Ohio and Pennsylvania tickets compared with the New Jersey ticket.

The advertised jackpot and cash option represent different payment choices, not equivalent immediate payouts. Powerball says a jackpot winner can select an annuity paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or take a lump sum. Both advertised options are before federal and jurisdictional taxes.

Ticket holders should check the drawing date as well as every number before determining whether they have won. Winning tickets must be redeemed in the jurisdiction where they were sold, according to Powerball. The Texas Lottery separately notes that tickets require validation before payment and gives Texas players 180 days after the drawing to claim prizes.

The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time. Powerball lists an estimated jackpot of $674 million, with a cash value of $283.9 million. Ticket-sales deadlines vary by jurisdiction, so players should check their selling lottery’s cutoff before the drawing.
