Galleri5, the developer of the AI filmmaking technology behind “Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh,” is joining Collective Studios’ Historyverse to develop films and series inspired by Indonesian mythology and history, Variety reported. The venture would take production tools developed in India into a new storytelling market.

Historyverse, which handles original intellectual property and studio work for Collective Artists Network, is partnering with Galleri5 and Indonesia’s Singhasari Special Economic Zone. The planned projects span mythology, fantasy, history and animation, bringing several kinds of screen storytelling within the collaboration’s development remit.

Indonesian creatives and cultural specialists are expected to work alongside Historyverse’s intellectual-property development team. That arrangement places local storytelling expertise alongside the Indian-developed technology, rather than presenting the venture simply as an overseas deployment of filmmaking software. The partnership’s stated focus is on developing Indonesian properties.

The first project under discussion carries the working title “Echoes of Nusantara,” an original mythology-adventure. Its status remains a development prospect: a working title and discussions do not establish a completed production, a release commitment or a confirmed route to audiences. Those distinctions matter as the broader slate takes shape.

Historyverse is set to oversee creative development, production and the packaging of intellectual property. It will collaborate with local talent to prepare projects for potential financing, production and distribution beyond Indonesia. The ambition therefore extends beyond making individual screen works to developing properties that could reach international partners and audiences.

The technological connection comes through “Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh,” the Star Plus and JioHotstar series for which Galleri5 developed and operated the AI filmmaking technology. The Indonesian venture seeks to apply that production capability to different source material. It is a proposed expansion of the underlying tools, not an announced Indonesian version of the Indian series.

Galleri5’s G5 AI Studio combines AI models with tools for storyboarding, character and world design, animation, visual effects and video production. Those capabilities connect the partnership’s development ambitions with the practical work of visualising stories. Their availability alone, however, does not determine which projects will secure backing or proceed into production.

The commercial proposition is to pair locally rooted stories with a production approach that the companies want to use across borders. For Historyverse, the venture links its original-property development role with Galleri5’s technical capabilities. For the proposed Indonesian slate, collaboration with local creatives is part of the announced structure, rather than a detail to be added after development.

The next milestones will be the selection and advancement of projects, including whether “Echoes of Nusantara” moves beyond discussions. Financing, production arrangements and distribution will determine how the development ambitions translate into finished films or series. For now, the reported pact establishes a collaborative framework and an intended direction, rather than a confirmed release slate.
