Robinhood plans to bring Ripple’s dollar-backed RLUSD stablecoin to its app later in 2026 under an expanded partnership announced on October 27. The agreement also covers institutional settlement, financing and treasury management, linking customer-facing services with the financial systems used to run Robinhood’s business.

According to Ripple’s announcement, RLUSD is already live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood. Availability in the main Robinhood app remains a planned next step rather than a completed launch, distinguishing existing access through those platforms from the broader retail rollout.

Ripple said Robinhood serves 28.6 million funded customers globally, including institutional clients through Bitstamp. That customer base gives the planned integration a substantial potential audience, although the figure does not establish how many customers will ultimately have access to or use RLUSD.

The partnership also gives the stablecoin a role beyond retail distribution. Robinhood will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement, according to the announcement, extending its intended function into transactions supporting Bitstamp’s institutional business rather than limiting it to an asset customers can trade.

Separately, Bitcoin.com News reported that Robinhood will integrate Ripple Treasury to automate global financial operations. The planned functions include cash and liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, payments and risk management. The scope places internal corporate finance alongside the agreement’s stablecoin and trading components.

The treasury work also includes intercompany netting, which offsets amounts owed between related businesses so fewer payments need to be settled. Its inclusion underscores that part of the agreement concerns managing Robinhood’s own money flows, a distinct task from providing digital assets to customers.

Existing institutional trading ties form another layer of the arrangement. Bitcoin.com News reported that Ripple Prime already provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing across roughly 20 digital assets. Ripple Prime clients also have access to spot trading on Bitstamp, connecting financing services with an established trading venue.

Support for perpetual futures trading on Bitstamp through Ripple Prime is planned later in 2026, the report said. That would extend the institutional relationship beyond its current financing and spot-market services, but remains a prospective addition rather than an already available feature under the announcement.

Taken together, the initiatives connect three different activities: distributing a stablecoin, supporting institutional markets and managing corporate finances. The breadth matters because the partnership is not simply an app-listing agreement. Its execution will involve separate customer-facing and operational changes, each serving a different purpose within Robinhood’s business.

The next milestones are the expected Robinhood app launch and planned expansion of Ripple Prime’s Bitstamp trading support. For now, the announced timetable should be distinguished from completed availability: RLUSD’s existing platform presence is established in Ripple’s statement, while the broader retail rollout and additional trading support remain ahead.
