Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato Reunite for Rare Beauty Campaign
Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato revisit their Disney Channel years in a Rare Beauty campaign, pairing throwback videos and Princess Protection Program imagery with a limited-edition blush bundle.
Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have reunited for a Rare Beauty campaign that turns their shared Disney Channel history into the backdrop for a makeup collaboration. Called “Still Making Each Other Blush,” the campaign revisits their early online videos and their 2009 movie Princess Protection Program.
The campaign accompanies the limited-edition Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle, named after the nickname fans gave the pair. The set brings together two shades of Rare Beauty’s liquid blush and the brand’s Soft Pinch Blush Brush, connecting the reunion to Gomez’s beauty business.
According to Variety, the promotional imagery includes a recreation of the Princess Protection Program poster, with Gomez and Lovato wearing updated versions of their characters’ blue and yellow gowns. The visual reference makes their shared screen history an explicit part of the campaign rather than simply a backdrop to the announcement.
A video posted to Gomez’s YouTube channel also revisits The Demi and Selena Show, the homemade series they filmed in 2008. The pair answer questions and lip-sync to “One and the Same,” their duet from Princess Protection Program, bringing another element of their Disney-era collaboration into the launch.
The bedroom-style setting recalls the informal videos that gave viewers a glimpse of their friendship as teenagers. Parade reported that the new campaign shows them dancing, experimenting with makeup and looking through old photographs, with the room styled to resemble their earlier filming space.
Their connection predates those videos and their Disney careers. Gomez and Lovato met as children on Barney & Friends before becoming associated with separate Disney Channel projects, including Wizards of Waverly Place and Camp Rock. Princess Protection Program subsequently brought them together as the leads of the same movie.
The product pairing gives each performer a place in the collection. Hope, a nude mauve, is associated with Gomez, while Virtue, a beige peach, is Lovato’s selection. Rather than introducing newly developed shades, the collaboration packages existing blushes around the two stars’ shared story.
That distinction is central to the campaign’s appeal: the reunion provides a new context for familiar products. For viewers who remember the original videos and film, the references offer a connection between the performers’ teenage careers and a present-day collaboration under Gomez’s brand.
In statements reported by NewBeauty, both performers described the project in personal terms. Lovato compared being on set to their earlier days making bedroom videos and playing with makeup, while Gomez described the campaign as an opportunity to acknowledge their history and celebrate their lives today.
The bundle launched October 28, priced at $50 through Rare Beauty’s website, according to launch coverage; the brand’s face-makeup collection also lists the set at that price. For now, the announced collaboration centers on the beauty release, with the recreated videos and film imagery providing the reunion rather than a newly announced screen project.
